第五課 – Fifth Class

今天的上課方式做了一些調整。泰武國小古謠隊正與佳興村合作一項新計畫,而計畫內容剛與我們課程不謀。每週六古謠隊會到佳興村裡與老師們學習傳統歌謠,這樣的計畫也能讓部落的居民參與,提供了一個向地方耆老學習的機會。

我們的課程的內容是“部落傳說”和“男人們的慶典”,在傳統歌謠裡,這兩項主題是用來相互補充的。藉由共分享部落傳說與活動的歷史和背後的意含,學生們能夠更了解歌曲的意義,並通過演唱歌曲的經驗,我們課程的內容也更生動。

The organisation for today’s class was slightly different. We planned for our lesson to coincide with a new activity in the village organised by the local Taiwu Elementary School choir. The choir has started to have their Saturday singing practice in puljetji village, in order to give the students a chance to learn from local teachers and to give residents of the village the opportunity practice and learn traditional songs.

The content of our lesson, ‘tribal legends’ and ‘the festival of the men’, and the songs were used to supplement each other. By sharing the history and meaning behind legends and village events students were able to better understand the meaning of the songs they were singing, and by singing the songs the content of the lessons also felt more alive and tangible.
